A magnificent limited edition wristwatch, the Masterpiece MP-05 was developed by the famed house of Hublot as a tribute to the performance and design of the most recent model of the iconic Ferrari, the ‘LaFerrari’, which was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Like its namesake, the Laferrari timepiece is a luxury top of the range object, designed and produced by a brand known for its outstanding craftsmanship and expertise in its field, in this case Swiss watchmaking. With an exterior of black PVD titanium, a traditional watch face has been replaced by a series of black aluminium cylinders which indicate the minutes and hours as well as the amount of reserve, in this case 50 days, a record for a hand wound watch. In addition to a tourbillon, the watch contains 637 components and a complex shaped sapphire crystal which mirrors and car’s outline. The time setting crown is integrated seamlessly into the body of the watch so as not to interfere with the sleek design concept.
A timepiece of the calibre is very much like the automobile after which it is dedicated, it is a dream for many, an object which demands admiration from afar but will only become a reality for just a select few.
