Tokujin yoshioka has envisioned the scheme for the issey miyake flagship store. located in the heart of london, at 10 brook street, the 460 square meter space is conceived as a juxtaposition between textures such as dyed-blue aluminum and exposed concrete beams. in its previous life, the site was a former bank, now transformed into a retail store that takes its design cues from issey miyake’s acclaimed reality lab, combining the concept of technology and craftsmanship.

The flagship will present another innovation from issey miyake: a product developed under the creative direction of fellow fashiong creative yoshiyuke miyamae. for the upcoming spring/summer 2015 collection, a series of fabrics based on a three-dimensional steam stretch process which alters flat fibers into origami-style forms when an iron is used, will be presented at the store.
