The Stuart Weitzman brand of shoes represent a range of gloriously glamorous designs often seen on red carpet events the world over. Now this prestigious brand has found a new home in Milan, in the flagship store of what is to be an international chain, designed by the practice of Zaha Hadid. The opening took place during the 2013 Milan Fashion week and was attended by Kate Moss who features in the new Stuart Weitzman campaign.
The familiar sweeping curves of the structures of Zaha Hadid were transformed into the elegant 3.000 sqf interior, the neutral monochrome walls and ceilings constructed from an experimental compound of glass reinforced concrete. The free standing display unit exhibits a futuristic glow, its star quality arising from a rose-gold covered fibreglass base, a method of construction which is employed on the sweeping lines of luxury yachts.
A sophisticated minimal complex aesthetic in a truly inspirational interior for the city of Milan which is vital to the expansion project of the brand, of which Stuart Weitzman states: ‘This is a major new initiative that will help achieve the next phase of growth and raise brand recognition worldwide in a one of a kind retail experience.’
