This beautifully simple beachside house is a perfect example of how building with a limited budget need not lead to a compromise in terms of aesthetics. Designed by Santiago based architects, 01ARQ, the house is situated on a remote plot by the sea near the town of Huentelauquen in Chile.

The rectangular shape has the luxury of total transparency on the south facing sea side. Frameless glass windows allow continuation with the wooden deck and do not detract in any way from the panoramic ocean view. Winds are common in the area and this factor has been dealt with by the sheltered area at the rear of the structure, which contains a fire pit and allows the space to be enjoyed regardless of the weather.

Basic furnishings and a light neutral colour palette allow a full appreciation of nature which surrounds this ideal family vacation home.
