The Art House is a project undertaken by Architects ISV in collaboration with Argyris Mougiakos. The construction serves a dual purpose, as a residence and an exhibition venue for the extensive art collection of the owners.
Owing to the ascending nature of the site, the construction was executed on several levels. Access from the main road is on the lower level where an indoor pool emphasizes the water element which embraces the entire building.
Art features strongly in the living quarters as well as in the courtyard on the upper floor where a pergola has been built in which to store and exhibit the works of art. The bare cement walls of the courtyard provide a contrast to the white walls of the interior. Every effort has been made to produce a tranquil environment in keeping with the purpose of the structure.
